A Second Career Starts Here ♻🏇

The Retired Racehorse Project (RRP) is a 501(c) organization dedicated to showcasing the versatility of Thoroughbreds and creating more opportunities for them after racing. Their flagship event, the Thoroughbred Makeover, brings recently retired racehorses and their riders together at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky every October for a competition like no other. Disciplines include ranch work, polo, hunters, show jumping, eventing, trail, dressage, foxhunting, and freestyle - a true testament to the versatility of the ex racehorse!

What makes the Makeover special is seeing these incredible horses take on entirely new careers and be successful at a wide range of sports. This year, TurnoutHQ staffer Amanda Chance will be part of the action, competing with her OTTB, Mr Bingo in the eventing and dressage disciplines. Bingo came off the track late last year and has now started his second career as an event horse, so we’ll be following their journey to Kentucky and cheering them on along the way!
